Review of Dietetics: Manual for the Registered Dietitian Exam,
2012-2013 Edition

This state-of- the- art manual follows the new Study Outline of the Commission on Dietetic Registration, which is the basis for licensure examinations beginning in January of 2012. For the first time, it is available in an eBook format as well as a printed book.

The 500-page Review of Dietetics is a comprehensive manual that provides essential information on all content areas listed in the Study Outline. The book, which provides the facts needed to answer examination questions, gathers content of many courses into one volume. It reflects thousands of hours of research and organization by many subject-matter experts, faculty and reviewers over many years. Content for this edition has been significantly revised from previous editions by experienced dietetics educators. Domain I (Principles of Dietetics) has been updated by Dr. Joyce Ann Gilbert, RD, LD, Executive Director of the Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics at California State University, Northridge; Domain II (Nutrition Care of Individuals and Groups) has been updated by Susan Braverman, MS, RD, CDN, FADA, Dietetic Internship Director at Queens College of the City University of New York; and Domains III and IV, (Management of Food and Nutrition Programs and Services and Foodservice Systems) by Ritamarie Little, MS, RD, Associate Director and other staff at the Magaram Center. Mary Abbott Hess, LHD, MS, RD, LDN, FADA is the book's editor.

About ten thousand exam candidates have studied from previous editions of Review of Dietetics and passed the registration exam to become RD's. The Review of Dietetics is also used as a textbook in dietetic internships and as a desktop reference for educators and practitioners.
